Larry Jackman, founder of Jackman Enterprises, is a recognized leader in the hospitality and property management industry.  He is also a noted authority on property development, business enhancement and risk management, authoring a number of articles for various trade publications.

Mr. Jackman began his career in 1968 and attended the University of San Diego while working in his family's hotel business.  Throughout the years he served in various capacities from operations to general management.  Obtaining a Certificate of Professional Hospitality Management from the University of California San Diego, and the distinction of Certified Hotel Administrator, the highest accreditation in the lodging industry, Larry Jackman became an accomplished President and CEO of a hotel/property management corporation.  During his tenure he particularly enjoyed the success of designing and overseeing development projects and renovations as well as assembling and managing the productive resources to attain challenging tasks.  There were many instances where time was of the essence or a project overwhelmed the resources at hand.  In looking for a source to provide qualified expertise on an interim basis experienced in the lodging industry and property management,  Mr. Jackman found few if any possessing the wherewithal that meet his needs and high standards.  Discussions with colleagues, especially those from smaller to midsize independent properties, found them to be in similar predicaments.  Hence, Jackman Enterprises was established, dedicated to filling this void.

Jackman Enterprises is more than Mr. Jackman being an authoritative generalist with the ability to identify problems and inspire innovative solutions.  Jackman Enterprises is a team of dedicated professional affiliates in their respective fields of expertise, committed to the mission of providing visionary people with the tools and information to enhance their success.  Jackman Enterprises orchestrates these resources to achieve most any task in a simple cost effective manner that exceeds expectations.

To further your understanding of the strength behind Jackman Enterprises, the following is a brief synopsis of Mr. Jackman’s many other accomplishments.  In addition to his prominent years in the lodging industry and property management field, Mr. Jackman has an extensive collateral background in general business, technology, and governmental affairs.  During the late seventies, Mr. Jackman founded Universal Enterprises, a property development and construction company specializing in difficult properties encumbered by various environmental and physical constraints.  In the early eighties he created another company, Motel Information Systems, which focused on developing affordable PMS software for smaller properties which were virtually ignored or priced out of the market.  By the mid eighties, Universal Enterprises had expanded to include a property management division for commercial properties, apartments and homeowners associations.  The nineties introduced the expansion of technology with Lancorp Network Services.  This innovative company is at the forefront of providing computer network integration for small business to large institutions.  With the advent of the new millennium, consolidation of these entrepreneurial accomplishments brought about the incorporation of Jackman Enterprises.

In addition to Mr. Jackman’s business acumen, he has cultivated a wealth of experience in governmental affairs spanning over two decades with his participation in numerous community and civic organizations throughout San Diego and Southern California.  In 1992 he entered the political arena to serve as a board member and past president of San Diego County’s largest fire protection district.  Continuing to serve in this capacity for the past 15 years, he sits as the chairman of the finance committee overseeing a sixteen million dollar budget, chairman of the land use and development committee, and for six years, sitting on the personnel and labor negotiations committee.  Through his demonstrated ability to overcome the adversity of budgetary constraints to exceed expectations, for ten years he served as the chairman of the commission responsible for fire and emergency medical dispatch for the entire East County of San Diego, La Mesa, El Cajon, Santee, Lemon Grove, National City, Chula Vista, Coronado and South Bay communities.  Mr. Jackman is also one of the founding board members of the San Diego/Imperial County Regional Communications System.  When the naysayers said it could not be done, Mr. Jackman’s perseverance and political insight is credited as being an instrumental factor in the successful seven year creation of the RCS.  As a member of the RCS Enterprise committee, he facilitated the development of a business plan used by the Federal Government as a model across the nation.  In 2001, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors recognized Mr. Jackman as an accomplished community leader with Supervisor Dianne Jacob appointing him to the San Diego Futures Foundation Board of Directors where he continues to serve.  Throughout the past three decades, Mr. Jackman has served on a number of Advisory Counsels and was just recently elected to San Diego County LAFCO (Local Agency Formation Commission) Advisory Counsel.
